CargoNet Telephony

What is CargoNet Telephony ?

Cargonet Telephony – Private Branch Exchange (CNTP-PBX) allows attached telephones to make calls to one another, and to connect to other telephone services, such as the public switched telephone network (PSTN) and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services. Its name comes from the Cargonet Telephony symbol, *.
A private branch exchange (PBX) is a telephone exchange or switching system that serves a private organization and performs concentration of central office lines or trunks and provides intercommunication between a large number of telephone stations in the organization.

Call Recording

Call Recordings provides the ability to force a call to be recorded or not recorded based on a call flow and override all other recording settings. If a call is to be recorded, it can start immediately. This will incorporate any announcements, hold music, etc. prior to being answered. It can also have the recording started at the time when the call is answered. Lots of modules inside your PBX admin GUI allow you to control call recordings directly, such as the Queues, Inbound Routes, Ring Groups and Extension modules. This module is designed to allow you to force a call to start recording prior to going to a specific destination that does not allow call recordings to be set, such as a page group or a specific IVR.

Inter - Cargonet Telephony exchange (IAX)

IAX is a communications protocol native to the Cargonet Telephony private branch exchange (PBX) software, and is supported by a few other soft switches, PBX systems, and softphones. It is used for transporting VoIP telephony sessions between servers and terminal devices.
IAX is well suited for control and transmission of streaming media and VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol). Because IAX works well with all codecs, it is adaptable to almost any type of data transmission.
Communications bandwidth and latency are minimized by means of multiplexing and trunking. IAX works well in conjunction with firewalls and allows the transmission of several data channels over one link. IAX uses the same path for both signalling and media.
